German Pastors Visiting Our Church

A group of 15 German pastors from the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau (Evangelische Kirche in Hessen und Nassau) visited our church on the second Easter Sunday (April 27) and participated in the worship service. They expressed their joy to be in Beirut with us and shared their concerns for the Christians in the Middle East. They will visit Schneller School too on the other days.

Classical Music: Listen to Women

Under the patronage of the Armenian Relief Cross in Lebanon, a Classical Concert performed by Piacevole Trio in our church on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. The program included works of women composers: Clara Schumann, Elfrida Andree and Gayane Chebotaryan which was entitled: Listen to Women. The players were, on violin, Eleonore Schulz; on cello, Shushan Artinian; and on piano, Lory Aintablian.

Communion Service, Bishop Munib Younan

Bishop Munib Younan, president of the Lutheran World Federation, and Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Palestine and Jordan joined the Communion Service in our church with Rev. Habib Badr. It was a blessing time on 1st Sunday of Lent Season in March 9, 2014 to have this fellowship. The service also joined by Rev. Dr. Riad Jarjour, chairman of the Forum for Development, Culture and Dialogue. Some Board members of the Fellowship of the Middle East Evangelical Churches also participated in the worship.

SAT_7 in Our Church

SAT_7 tv organized a meeting for Evangelical church leaders and Christian institutions to participate in sharing the vision for the future of SAT_7. And Rev. Habib Badr, chairman of the International Council of SAT_7, invited MP Ghassan Moukheiber to speak about the Challenges and the Concerns that faces Christian presence in the ME.

With Mme Nabila Fares

'Helping Hand Society' welcome its guest Mme Nabila Fares, mayor of Rabieh at mayor of Rabieh, on Friday, 21st of Feb. Mme Fares spoke about her recently two-volume published book "كلمات مختارة" . She read few poems and reflected on her experience with ACSAUVEL association for improving life for people with down syndrome.

A Birthday celebration followed the meeting and words of love and good wishes are shared. 

A Lecture at NEST by the Catholicos Aram I

On the occasion of 40 years of establishing the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC), his Hilliness Aram I, the Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia for the Armenian Orthodox, presented at the Near East School of Theology (NEST) on Monday, Jan 27, a profound lecture entitled: 40 Years of the Ecumenical Movement in ME: What Remains to Be Done? H. H Aram I emphasized on collaboration among Christian churches as raison d'être of MECC and in spite of all challenges faced in this organisation. Then H. H Aram I said that Christian communities are called to engage more in dialogue of life with Muslims. This collaboration and dialogue will effect positively the future of Christian presence in the ME.

Mrs. Laila Istfan with 'Helping Hand Society'

Mrs. Laila Istfan Fakhouri was our guest today for the Christmas meeting of the 'Helping Hand Society'. An atmosphere of Christmas joy with delightful jokes from Madam Laila created a lovely spirit in the hearts of the people present. May the Love Christmas and the hope of the New year abide in all.

CTI Christmas Concert

A Christmas Concert preformed by CTI Cantores, Reem Deeb - Soprano, Vartan Agobian, conductor, last Sunday 8th of Dec. in our Church. The concert started with the "Magnificat" composed by Rev. Habib Badr and followed by many popular Christmas songs and works of Bach, Mozart, and Schubert.

Thanksgiving Day, 2013

On the occasion of Thanksgiving Day, 'Helping Hand Society' organized a potluck dinner last Friday 29th Nov. 2013. To be grateful is to recognize the love of God in everything He has given us -- and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings with it immense graces from Him.
